The client was an order taker. The client and the victim were partners in a business and did business with the victim's company. The client placed more orders than the victim needed and misappropriated some of the money sent to the victim in various ways. The client then filed a fraud fraud charges.
Case issues
The client caused the company to over-order a necessary product and then had the company's treasurer transfer the over-ordered amount to the manufacturer, resulting in a loss of 100 million units for the victim company. Therefore, it was important to compensate the victim company for the loss and avoid imprisonment through a plea bargain, as severe penalties were inevitable even if the amount was restored.
